General Auction Sales (Wednesday Evening)
Fur n Feather, Caged Birds, Poultry, Waterfowl, Timber, Modern Furniture and General Auction.
A massive auction of native and ornamental poultry, waterfowl, ducks, game and caged birds takes place every Wednesday together with other fur and feathered creatures. The caged bird section is the largest in the North of England and the poultry sale is hugely popular. 50 - 100 stalls attend the general market from 2:00pm onwards and by 8:00pm over 2000 people will have visited the site each week - every week.

General Auction Information
All livestock entries are delivered on the day of sale, therefore no catalogue is available.
Viewing time is on the day of the sale only from 12 noon until the start of the sale at 5:30pm
A Buyers Premium of 6% (5% plus VAT) applies on the hammer price of all livestock lots, 15% on non livestock lots. The VAT is not reclaimable under the Auctioneers Margin Scheme.
We accept cash, debit cards and credit cards (credit cards subject to a 3% surcharge of the total invoice amount)
Anyone wishing to buy at the auction must re-register thsi year for a 2016 buyers number at a cost of £2.50. This will last until the end of December 2016.
Vendor Information
All customers wishing to sell at the general sale should deliver the entries on day of the sale from 9am - 5pm (exepct Silverwoods Antiques & Furniture sale when delivereies are Monday 9am - 3pm)
Any livestock left before 2pm must be left with adequate food and water.
Clitheroe Auction deducts the following commissions: Livestock & non livestock items are charged at 15% of the hammer price per lot subject to a minimum of 80p per lot whether sold or unsold. All charges are subject to VAT at the current rate, not reclaimable under the Auctioneers Margin Scheme
All customers are required to register in the main office upon arrival for an account number, charged at £2.50, valid January - December 2015
