Established for over 20 years our popular equestrian auction is just getting larger and larger with 600 -700 lots of tack, up to 80 horses and ponies; together with equestrian trade stalls.

The sale of tack starts at 10am and all entries should be delivered between 8:00am and 9:15am.
Lot numbers for tack & equestrian accessories are pre-bookable in advance of the sale (max 25 lots per vendor). To request some lot numbers, please phone the office 01200 423325 at least one week prior to the sale and lot numbers and tags will be sent out in advance of the sale.
Tack commission is 15% with a minimum of £1 per lot (subject to VAT)
A Buyers Premium of 12.5% (12.5% plus VAT) applies on the hammer price of each lot. The VAT is not reclaimable under the Auctioneers Margin Scheme.
We accept cash, debit cards and credit cards (credit cards subject to a 3% surcharge of the total invoice amount)
Anyone wishing to buy at the Auction must re-register for a 2016 buyers number at a cost of £2.50. This willl last until the end of December 2016.

The sale of Horses and ponies will start at 12:00 noon and will be held in the main ring.
Horses & ponies are not pre-booked but allocated lot numbers on a first come, first serve basis on the monring of sale. Entries are accepted from 8.30am until 11.30am subject to space availability.
Entry fee is £20 per horse refundable when sold through the auction. Horses are sold in guineas and the Auction keeps the guinea as the commission (ie 5p in each £1) with a minimum commission of £10 per animal.
Bi-Annual Carriage & Harness Sales
Saturday 15th October 2016
Two seasonal auctions of carriage and harness run by Silverwoods complement Clitheroe Auction Mart’s range of popular equestrian sales. Featuring an enlarged undercover display area, these auctions are attracting specialist buyers and sellers from the UK and beyond. As well as 500 + lots of harness and associated items and up to 80 vehicles, numerous trade stands are also present on these busy days.

General Auction Information
All Harness entries are delivered on the Friday prior to the sale.
Viewing time is on the morning of the sale only from 8am.
We are unable to provide images or condition reports for this sale.

Vendor Information
All customers wishing to sell at the Carriage & Harness sale should fill in the entry form and return to Silverwoods in advance of the sale (closing date on form) to be included in the catalogue. As this sale is a catalogued sale, no late entries will be allowed on the day of sale apart from vehicles.
All Carriage and Harness entries are delivered to Silverwoods on the Friday prior to the sale or by agreed appointment.
Silverwoods deducts the following commissions: Harness is charged at 5% of the hammer price per lot subject to a minimum of £1 per lot whether sold or unsold. Carriage sales are subject to a commission of 8% of the hammer price up to £500 and 5% on the remainder.
All charges are subject to VAT at the current rate. A buyers Premium of 5% ( 5% plus VAT)
Carriages entered into the sale with a reserve price are subject to an entry fee; £10 entry fee on reserves up to £1000 and £20 entry fee on reserves over £1000.
Payment to vendors will be made 5 days after the sale subject to cleared funds by cheque or bank transfer
Anyone wishing to purchase at the equestrian sales must register in the main office upon arrival for a bidders number, charged at £2.50, valid January - December 2015
